Reading Week!

Well what a pointless week! I come back after a terrific weekend in Scotland to end up going on a trip to the egypt center (pointless!) where we get patronised by a women who couldnt even do basic maths even when we told her the answers and the had the cheek to give us teaching advice! I dont think Ive ever met anyone more old-fashioned in there teaching style or beliefs. To make it even better i couldnt even make it up to Aberystwyth to visit my girlfriend on valentines day like :(. therefore having to watch England get beaten by wales by myself in Merthyr Tydfil. Although sunday did prove to be amazing, I ended up playing football with some friends I havent seen for a few months. It all ended brightly with one child on the floor gasping for breath after the football hit him square in the nether regions. I was soooo glad to get back to Swansea.

Snow day! pfffffffffffffft

Well considering how much the snow has melted in the past day its amazing to see that only eight of us turned up for english and four for IT! Ridiculus considering how many people live locally. The paths were awful to be fair, yet the roads were clear. I thought the snow was absolute brilliant yesterday and it was refreshing having the day off. I know we only hav twelves hours of lectures a week in university, but it was still nice to have a snow day.

First task - Seashells

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeell, seashells! i don't think i could pick a more random subject. Even with the method we used, randomly picking out of a bunch, i was shocked. I don't think we had any idea of what we were doing at first, we just sat there for five minutes quiet as anything. Looking through google seashells were impossible to find; Wikipedia to the rescue! Michelle found out that collecting seashells was called conchology, after that we just flew through it. We found a website we all agreed was the best, though not with out debate like. We did find an absolute cracking website, created by a nutcase in Xah lee in which we spent half the lesson looking through his website (now i like maths but this guy was obsessive!) mixing his passion of maths, seashells and the piano with a few odd photos to boot. However we decided against his site, for a few strange reasons, and settled on www.seashell-collector.com (although i think Charles was taken by the site with music and a video opening). The site we chose was made by a frenchman, which in my eyes was enough to choose a completely different site, however to be fair he did make a pretty good site. Well set out and very good English. As random as the subject was I'm quite glad we did as it turned out to be funner than i expected.
